About Compassion of Christ Ministry
Gary Mitchell was ordained April 2014 by Liberty Church Pastor Marvin Raines. Pastor Gary Mitchell shared a vision with his wife, Julie Mitchell, expressing a need for the church to get out of building base teaching and to let others, who never attend church, or feel uncomfortable going to church know the amazing word of Jesus Christ. In September 2014 Compassion of Christ Ministries was born and as grown exponentially over the past two years and our hopes is to keep growing. We offer food pantry to needy individual and families we also offer furniture and clothing to needy families. We supply the homeless in Fort worth every Saturday and Dallas every Sunday with food, drinks, clothing and the word of Jesus Christ.
Our Ministry Mission
Compassion of Christ is based its mission in the scripture Galatians 2:20 – I am crucified with Christ now it’s He who lives in me to give me abundant life through faith in the finished work of the Cross of Jesus.
We reach out into our community with open outreaches where we serve the needy and homeless, food, drinks, hygiene supplies, sleeping bags and tents. We also help them access one of our partners groups to get social services from MHMR PATH, JPS Health Connection Outreach Teams, Catholic Charities SOS Outreach Teams, The Veterans Homeless Program and others, where we work alongside their case managers to help them get into an apartment through one of the many HUD Voucher Programs Then we furnish as much of their homes as we have donations secured for. We work with other organizations like, When We Love, to mentor and help them get started off into other social and economic resources to help them stay I their homes. We work with many different types of situations. We have given temporary to long term temporary housing to single Moms in Foster Care Prevention, Battered women to be placed into safe environments, Homeless Veterans, and a lot of other scenarios. We are privately funded and receive no Federal, State, City grants or subsidies at this time.We serve the poor and less fortunate, we serve our neighbors, we serve our communities, we serve our City, State and Federal Governments as we follow and serve the Son of God.
Romans 3:23 “ For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus” We are sinners saved by grace. it is the love that Jesus has for us that drives us to try and mirror his ways. Grace is a gift freely given, how can we not “ feed his people” All Glory to GOD for his perfect plan. Thank You JESUS!!
